We know that attending a new church can be stressful at times; overwhelming even. What should I wear? What are their services like? Will I fit in? Do they offer classes and events for my children? How will I know how to participate?
Don't worry, we've got you covered! Below you can find the answers to the most common of questions we often receive. Once you have viewed this page, hover over the "I'm New Here" tab to learn more about Landmark Worship Center and our Family of Faith.
What should I wear?
This is probably the easiest question to answer... Clothes! We don't care what you wear. If you are comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt; by all means, come in those. Do you prefer suit and tie? Wear that! We want you to be comfortable in the House of Elohim (G-D)!
What are your services like?
The services at Landmark Worship Center are as varied as the individuals that make up this great assembly. Landmark is a Hebraic Christian (More on that later.), Pentecostal/Charismatic church, so you will see aspects of Hebraic culture as well as Pentecostal/Charismatic style worship. There are times of great shouting and singing as well as somber moments of silence. We allow for the moving of the Ruach HaKo'desh (the Holy Spirit).
Do you offer children's services?
At Landmark we have a very active Children and Youth program. Every Saturday at 6pm, from nursery to 19 yrs, are dismissed to their respective classes to learn on their levels. During our Wednesday evening services, the Next Generation Youth Ministry has a class specifically geared around the needs of young men and women. Throughout the year we offer exciting and fun filled events and trips for all of our Children and Youth aged members.
What denomination are you?
Landmark is a fully independent and NON DENOMINATIONAL church. While most people would consider us a form of Pentecostal, we try to avoid labeling ourselves as anything other than "Believers of ADONAI Yeshua HaMashiach" (Believers of the LORD Jesus Christ). Landmark is Hebraic in culture, Spirit filled in worship, and Bible center in foundation.
What do you mean by "affirming"?
Landmark strives to be a place where everyone is welcomed, loved, and accepted. When we say that we are "affirming," more specifically, "LGBTQ+ Affirming," we mean we welcome all people from all walks of life. Landmark is a place where members of the LGBTQ+ community can find refuge and acceptance. Not only do we affirm them, but we embrace them as Children of Elohim (G-D), because that's exactly who they are. We do not try to change anyone, as we believe only ADONAI Yeshua can do this, we simply love and accept. Landmark is not a "gay church" because there's just no such thing - we are part of THE church eternal; which is made up of black, white, red, yellow, straight, gay, rich, poor, educated, uneducated, etc. Landmark has a great mix of all walks of life that make up her assembly.
Are women permitted to have active roles in the church?
At Landmark, we believe that men and women are seen as the same in the eyes of Elohim (G-D) and therefore we do not distinguish in which roles men and women can participate in. At Landmark women are in almost every level of leadership and ministry.
